Cloud my perception

As I seek an intervention

God give me direction

Enemies abound

They seek to pounce

Without a sound

But cowardice betrays them

They seek safe haven

Not a man among them

Mere mindless shells

Lacking testicular fortitude

How I long for solitude

Peace of mind

I search for

But cannot find

A place where the color of the grass

Would inspire Zen like musings

Such would be a place of my choosing

With air so clean as to effect

A euphoria of narcotic dimensions

Not to mention the quiet

Punctuated by gurgling streams

The birdsong’s sweet lullaby

But such are only imaginings

Does my Ides of March draw nigh

Must I also be doomed to utter

“Et tu Brute” of a fashion

Must I be like “The 300”

Standing my ground

In the face of insurmountable odds

Alone in a dark tunnel

A light pierces the gloom

My spirits are lifted

Then deflated

The light I see in front of me

Heralds the onrushing train

I am alone….It is dark

I AM UNAFRAID.

Where the shottas have no mercy

Where the women are pretty

Unemployment on the increase

As the streets run red

Will the bloodletting never cease

Politician says

Vote for me…..

I can fix this

A practitioner of politricks

Prices on the rise

Crime on the rise

The silence shattered

A mother cries

Can you see the pain in her eyes?

Years of neglect

She lives at the wrong address

So much stress

She does her best

Day to day…..same shabby dress

She lives in sub standard housing

That bright green flowing past her gate

Isn’t watercolor

You smell that?

U.S. economic indicators

head south…..are some of us

condemned to living hand to mouth?

As the rich get richer and the poor die

Help a brother a sister

It doesn’t take much

Just be willing to try

Who’s next?

It could be you or I
